Cardiac Science Corporation, the wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bangalore-based healthcare equipment company, Opto Circuits, has been awarded a contract to deploy 650 automated external defibrillator (AED) in Girona of Spain.
AED is a device that helps to overcome sudden cardiac arrest by delivering therapeutic dose of electrical energy to the affected heart.
“We are pleased to partner with Dipsalut in providing AEDs that will protect the Girona community,” a company release said.
As per the company, most of the fully automatic cardiac science AEDs will be deployed in streets or public squares. Other AEDs will be used to protect high-risk facilities such as sports centres, train stations and bus stations, the release said.
