Orchid Chemicals Q2 net loss of Rs 56 cr

Pharmaceuticals major Orchid Chemicals has reported a loss of Rs 56.56 crore for the July-September quarter of 2011-12 fiscal.

The city-based company had reported a net profit of Rs 27.95 crore during the same period last year.

The net sales of the company for the second quarter stood at Rs 412.22 crore as against Rs 368.32 crore registered during the same period of previous year, Orchid Chemicals said in a filing to the BSE.

For the half-year period ending September 30, 2011, the net sales of the company grew to Rs 785.98 crore from Rs 671.82 crore registered during the same period of the previous year.
