Patanjali Aurved, promoted by Yoga guru Ramdev, is likely to set up a manufacturing plant in turmeric growing Nizamabad district in Telangana.

Patanjali Aurved chief executive officer, acharya Balakrishna, has made a field visit to the district along with Nizambabad Lok Sabha member K Kavitha on Tuesday to look at the possibility of establishing a turmeric processing plant.

Nizamabad is one of the major turmeric producing regions in the country. Turmeric is grown in around 2 lakh acres in Armoor and Balkonda areas of the district.

Following the field visit, Patanjali chief said that he found the place suitable to establish their manufacturing operations. The state government has offered to provide clearances to the company within 15 days under single window clearance system to set up the plant, according to the officials.

On Monday, Balakrishna met with Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada and informed him that Patanjali was keen to set up a mega food processing plant and a cow breeding center among other projects in the state.
