Petronet LNG today posted a decline of nearly 21 per cent in its net profit at Rs 83.21 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, over the corresponding period a year earlier.
Net sales of the company, engaged in re-gasified liquefied natural gas (R-LNG) business, fell to Rs 2,212.99 crore in the quarter under review from Rs 2,473.04 crore in the same quarter previous financial year, Petronet LNG said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
For the nine-month period ended December, the company posted a net profit of Rs 307.20 crore, marginally down compared to Rs 314.09 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
Shares of Petronet LNG today closed at Rs 76.90, up 0.20 per cent from previous close on the BSE.
