PNC Infratech wins Rs 441 crore road contract in UP

EPC contract pertains to a project sponsored by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and is slated to be completed in two years

PNC Infratech Ltd has been awarded a Rs 441 crore contract by the Uttar Pradesh Public Works Department (PWD) for rehabilitation and upgradation of the 80 km road stretch of the Sonauli-Gorakhpur section of National Highway 29 E in the state.

According to a press release issued by the company, the EPC contract pertains to a project sponsored by the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, and is slated to be completed in two years.

Yogesh Jain, MD, PNC Infratech Ltd said that this is a strategically important National Highway Development Project, as it connects the Indo-Nepal border at Sonauli with Gorakhpur.

He added that given the location and terrain, this is a logistically and topographically challenging project.
 
With this project, the current EPC order book of PNC Infratech stands in excess of Rs 3,000 crore.
