Prasar Bharti To Demand Content Sharing With Dd

Faced with stiff criticism against its inability to manage terrestrial broadcasting rights for major sports events such as the ongoing soccer World Cup, the Prasar Bharati board has decided to ask the government to work out a legal framework, till the Communication Convergence Bill is cleared, to make it mandatory for a telecast right holder to share the content of events important for Indian viewers with Doordarshan for terrestrial broadcasting.

Thus, Prasar Bharati has decided to end its negotiations with World Sports Group Nimbus for bagging the terrestrial telecast rights of the ICC World Cup.
