RK Tyagi today took over as chairman of Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL).
Previously, he was chairman and managing director of Pawan Hans Helicopter (PHHL) (since May 2007).
Tyagi is an Engineering Graduate in Electronics and Telecommunication (1975) from IIT Roorkee and also possesses a Degree of Master in Business Administration, the Bangalore-headquartered defence PSU said in a statement.
Subsequently, he has also attended an Advanced Leadership course on Public Sector Management for 15 months at Indian School of Business (ISB Hyderabad) in the years 2004-05.
He joined ONGC as a Graduate Trainee 1976 and through various assignments rose to the position of General Manager in 2003 and continued serving ONGC up to May 2007.
Tyagi was holding the position of chairman-cum-managing director at PHHL from May 2007 to February 2012.
