Sangeeta Talwar has resigned from her post as the wholetime executive director of the Tata Global Beverages Ltd (TGBL). The Board of the company has accepted the resignation and she is expected to be relieved of her duties effective August 1, 2010.
"Consequent to her ceasing to be the wholetime director, she would also cease to be a director of the company with effect from the date she would be relieved," the company said in a statement to the exchanges.
Sangeeta Talwar was instrumental in Tata Tea's social marketing campaign ‘Jaago Re'. Besides being the wholetime executive director of TGBL she was also regional president, South Asia for the Tata Tea group, that comprises Tata Tea, Tetley Eight O’clock coffee, Tata coffee and Himalayan mineral water.
An IIM-Calcutta graduate, Talwar had joined TGBL six years ago, after working as the CEO of toy giant, Mattel for the South Asian market for two years. She started her career with packaged food company Nestle India in the marketing department, where she was one of the members behind the launch of its instant noodles brand Maggi in the country.
