Saraf Foods forays into retail with freeze dried snacks

Vadodara-based food processor, Saraf Foods has forayed into the retail market with a pilot launch of freeze dried snack food under the brand name - ‘Saraf’s Pure Bitez'.

"The retail launch is planned in three phases, where in the phase one, we would launch our products in Gujarat, Maharashtra & Goa. Northern Indian states will be covered in next phase & rest of the India will be covered in phase III," informed Vivek Tambe, CEO of the company. Saraf has launched two products – freeze-dried Sweet Corn and freeze-dried Sweet Corn Roasted. The company expects to roll out a range of different products over the next few months.

The company offers freeze dried products under three categories namely, Freeze Dried Foods, Freeze Dried Vegetables and Freeze Dried Herbs. It does not use preservatives or chemicals to increase the shelf like off the packaged products. "Freeze dried food products is a niche segment and the company’s success in this segment can be gauged from the fact that it has established its presence in the US, Europe and other global markets." said Saraf.
