SJVNL profits up by 8.87%

The net profit of the company rose to Rs 343 crore from Rs 315 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal

With over 11% increase in electricity generation from its flagship 1500 MW Nathpa Jhakri hydro power station , PSU SJVN ltd has recorded 8.87% rise in the first quarter of the current fiscal.
 
The net profit of the company rose to Rs 343 crore from Rs 315 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal .
 
The company’s total income rose 7.18% from 557 crore to Rs 597 crore . The financial results were declared at a meeting of the board of directors in New Delhi Monday.

During the quarter April to June 2013 SJVN’s mammoth Nathpa project generated 2329 million units of electricity which was 11.4% more than last years same period.
 
The country’s largest hydro power station set a new milestone by achieving the highest daily generation of 39.147 million units on 29 May this year against the schedule generation of 36 million units.
 
After the signing of a MOU with Bihar , SJVN has already taken over the 1320 MW Buxar Company Pvt Ltd. It has been allotted 486 metric tonnes coal reserves last year in West Bengal for this thermal station.
 
This quarter SJVN has also incorporated a subsidiary company SJVN Arun-3 power development company Ltd in Nepal .
 
SJVN’s 412 MW Rampur hydro project in Himachal is nearing completion this fiscal .
 
Its 47.6 MW Khirvire Wind Power station coming up in Maharashtra is expected to start generating power.
