Star India has appointed Gurjeev Singhas the head of its international business. Singh, in his earlier rolewas COO of the Star India and Zee's distribution joint ventureMediaPro and helped drive its growth. He led the team to create an extraordinarily successful venture that grew the network's distribution footprint by accelerating digitisation and pushing the envelope on transparency.
Singh will move to Star International once the transition of MediaPro is complete.
"The International Business has huge growth potential which has not yet been fully tapped and we believe Gurjeev will add tremendous value to the organization and will build on the foundations that have been put in place and take theInternational business to new heights,'' Sanjay Gupta, COO, Star India, said. "Gurjeev shares our values and our focus on thebusiness and he has proved to be an extraordinary leader throughout his stint with Star and its ventures," he added.

Singh has been involved with getting many a start-up up and running. A mechanical engineer with a master's degree in business management from his experience in the media industry includes stints at ESPN Star Sports, where he handled various roles in sales, marketing and distribution of the channels in South Asian countries, Set Discovery & Star Den Media Services.
