Tata Steel's Lifeline Express starts operations

The initiative aims at providing free surgical interventions in areas of post-polio deformities, hearing disorders, dental, cleft lip and eye problems

Lifeline Express, the 'Hospital on Wheels', currently being hosted by Tata Steel at Chhatrapur railway station in Ganjam district started its operations on Thursday.

Damodar Rout, minister for health and family welfare and micro, small & medium enterprises formally inaugurated the operations of Lifeline Express in the presence of Sunil Bhaskaran, deputy vice president (corporate services) of Tata Steel, S K Mishra, the company's chief resident executive and MPs as well as MLAs from the region.

The initiative aims at providing free surgical interventions in areas of post-polio deformities, hearing disorders, dental, cleft lip and eye problems of the people. People living in the farthest corners of Ganjam district and parts of Gajapati and Kandhamal districts will be benefited from this initiative. The hospital will be stationed at the Chhatrapur railway station till May 11.

Tata Steel is hosting the Lifeline Express for the second time in Ganjam district and for the seventh time in Odisha.
