Tata Consultancy Services, the country's largest IT company today said the first phase of its new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) application program with Garuda Indonesia Airlines has gone live.

Garuda Indonesia Airlines is Indonesia's national airline. TCS has worked in conjuction with the airlines' aircraft maintenance subsidiary GMF Aeroasia for this solution, the IT company said in a release today.

The first phase of the project comprises the SAP-based end-to-end pre-configured SWIFT MRO solution for MRO, supply chain processes, finance and human resources modules.

With the TCS SWIFT MRO solution, Garuda replaced over 50 legacy applications, implemented over 300 business processes, and migrated over 3 million records of data for 140 aircrafts and fitted parts into a unified solution, the release said.

"The first phase of Garuda's MRO transformation is now complete and in production, and phase two is coming soon, further helping the airline deliver exemplary aircraft maintenance services in line with our strong growth and development of a global leading airline brand," the release quoted Judi Rifajantoro, executive vice president (strategy, business development and risk management) of Garuda Indonesia as saying.
