Vistara, a joint venture of Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines is adding four aircraft to its existing fleet of nine aircraft.

"We will soon open our signature lounge at T3, Delhi, which will provide an opportunity to our customers to indulge in a fine experience way beyond the conventional lounge concept. We will also be incorporating a pioneering concept of in-flight entertainment for our passengers which will redefine the in-flight experience for travellers in India. In addition, we are looking at adding four more aircraft in 2016," Vistara CEO Phee Teik Yeoh said.

The company said that in its first year it has already flown one million passengers and operated 307 weekly flights to 12 destinations across the country.

"Today marks a significant milestone in our journey as we successfully complete one year of operations. Our first year has been no less than extraordinary. We have a slew of product and service innovations in the pipeline which will further delight our customers in 2016," Phee Teik Yeoh added.

In November, Vistara reported loads of 72%, the highest since its launch in January. Vistara also has a sales network overseas and the airline said growth in bookings from markets, including Dubai, Japan and Singapore has been encouraging.

Tata Sons holding the majority stake of 51% in the company and SIA holding the remaining 49%.
