"Unlike other global financial institutions, Wells Fargo had made it through the recession pretty well," he told Business Standard on the sidelines of Nasscom's event here on Thursday.
Arnold, who came down to India, a first geography for Wells Fargo to set up the analytical team globally, nine months ago, said the company currently had 70 analytics specialists in India, and a majority was based out of Bengaluru.
Wells Fargo employs a little over 5,000 people in India, including 50 in Chennai, and the rest equally distributed between Hyderabad and Bengaluru, catering to consumer lending, business direct and wholesale banking.
"The analytics team in India primarily facilitates Wells Fargo's US customers," Arnold said, adding they were in the process of aggressively hiring people in the analytics domain in India.
