Amid speculation of a succession war, the fallout of the 2G scam and the assembly polls loss, DMK is holding its General Council today under party patriarch M Karunanidhi here.
The meeting of the party's top decision-making is taking place a day after the Supreme Court cancelled 122 licences awarded during the tenure of party leader A Raja as Telecom Minister.
Today's meeting will discuss the Lok Sabha polls due in 2014, seen as a counter to archrival J Jayalalithaa's call to her AIADMK men to prepare themselves for a bigger role at the national level after her party defeated DMK to capture power in closely fought polls last April.
Amendments to party rules are also in the agenda even as speculation of succession war between siblings M K Alagiri and M K Stalin are doing the rounds.
