Cyrus Mistry avoids face-off

Escalating the legal battle with the Tata group, Cyrus Mistry, the ousted chairman of Tata Sons, skipped the board meeting of the Tata group’s holding company on Thursday, saying it was “illegal” and not chaired by a legal chairman. The meeting, held at Bombay House in the afternoon, was chaired by Ratan Tata who was appointed interim chairman of Tata Sons on October 24, replacing Mistry.

In a move that may give some relief to the currency crunch of common man, oil marketing companies in tie up with State Bank of India (SBI) has decided that by swiping debit cards at 2,500 fuel retail outlets across the country, people will be able to withdraw Rs 2,000 per day from November 24.

From cyber security to social issues, Gates wants to partner with the Indian government on a number of initiatives.


India ranks 20th in Climate Change Performance Index

India has been ranked 20th on Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2017, which underlined that countries like India are making "great efforts" in the fields of renewables and energy efficiency. With the historic Paris Agreement having recently entered into force, the latest CCPI confirms a boost for renewable energy and positive developments in energy efficiency.
