The seventh season of the hit TV quiz show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' got its first female crorepati in the young Firoz Fatma from Uttar Pradesh.

Hailing from Saharanpur in UP, the 22-year-old became the first woman to have won Rs one crore in this season of the game show hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan.

A BSc graduate, Firoz never wanted her sister to stop studies due to financial problems. So she sacrificed her further education to let her continue.

Firoz's sole aim to participate in the game show was to win a handsome sum to pay off her deceased father's loan. She gathered all the knowledge only by reading newspapers and watching news channels.

"I was very nervous when I wasn't able to make it to the hot seat in the second last episode also and felt I would have to go home empty handed. But then I aced the fastest finger first round and made my way to the hot seat. Also, I didn't feel as the Rs one Crore winner until the audience clapped and Bachchanji hugged me. It is a great feeling," Firoz said.

With the winning amount, Firoz wants to pursue her higher education and give her mother a tension-free life.

The episode will be aired on December 1 on Sony Entertainment Television.
