Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on Thursday said a hung house was a possibility after the crucial elections to the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) slated for February 16. While the statement surprised everyone, he clarified in such a situation Congress would not seek support from Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
He said the Congress-NCP alliance would be successful in dislodging the 15-year rule of the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance but reiterated his hung house theory.
Taking a combative posture against the Shiv Sena, Chavan told reporters the party would become irrelevant after the coming polls. "The fight is certainly against the hate politics run by the Shiv Sena over the years. We will campaign for inclusive politics and inclusive growth," he said.
