Expressing gratitude to the Gandhi family, Himachal Pradesh designated Chief Minister and Congress leader Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday said the government would work for the development of the state.

 

"Our government will bring change. We will work for the development of Himachal Pradesh," Sukhu, who started his political career at the age of 18, told the media in his first statement after being named the new Chief Minister.

Mumbai records 10 cases of measles, no fresh fatalities

Mumbai recorded 10 cases of measles in the last 24 hours and no new fatalities, an official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said. The city has recorded 457 measles cases and eight fatalities so far this year, the official said. Four suspected fatalities due to the infection, including that of a four-year-old child in Kurla who had not been vaccinated, are yet to be confirmed, he said. As per a release issued by the civic body, of 2,35,878 children in the age group of nine months to five years, 30,506 children were given additional doses of Measles-Rubella (MR) special dose.

Delhi liquor case: Kavitha to face CBI on Sunday

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will question Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K. Kavitha in Delhi liquor scam case on Sunday. A team of CBI officials will examine the Member of Legislative Council of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at her residence in Banjara Hills at 11 am. Pak court dismisses Imran Khan's plea in six-year-old defamation case

A Pakistani court has dismissed ousted prime minister Imran Khan's petition in a six-year-old USD 61 million defamation case filed against him by incumbent Premier Shehbaz Sharif.
