In a tit-for-tat move, the Lok Sabha today passed a resolution condemning attacks on India by Pakistan. The Lok Sabha speaker, Meira Kumar said: “Pakistan must not take India’s patience for granted”.

She also said: “J&K, including parts forcibly and illegally occupied by Pakistan, is part of India”.

A similar resolution was passed by India in March 2013 after the hanging of Afzal Guru convicted in the attack on Indian Parliament.

At that point of time, India had rejected Pakistan Parliament’s resolution on Guru’s execution  terming it interference in India's internal affairs and told it to desist from such acts of support for extremist and terrorist elements.

The Lok Sabha asserted that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir including the territory under illegal occupation of Pakistan, "is and shall always be an integral part of India".

Pakistan's National Assembly had on Tuesday passed a unanimous resolution condemning what it called "unprovoked aggression by Indian military forces" on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The issue was raised Wednesday in both houses of Parliament with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) contending that the government should bring a resolution against Pakistan.

"There is no partisanship on the Pakistan National Assembly resolution. This has to be condemned. India is planning to counter Pakistan's resolution with a similar resolution," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath told reporters outside parliament.

The government had then informed the Rajya Sabha that it is already in the process of preparing a resolution.
