Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday issued a joint statement at the Hannover Messe industrial fair’s India pavilion, and said that the event would give a fair chance to Indian companies to observe Germany’s innovations, work culture and discipline.

It is the world's biggest industrial fair, in which India is the partner country this year.

“Hannover Fair is organized in Germany but the entire World has its eyes on this fair. In different parts of the world different innovations are taking place. This fair will give a chance to Indian companies to observe Germany's innovations, work culture and discipline,” Prime Minister Modi said.

“India will contribute in the development of both the nations by participating in Hannover Messe. India has got a chance to partner at the Hannover Messe. Indian companies will now experience the technology, innovation, work culture and discipline practiced here,” he added.

Concluding the joint statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his heartiest congratulations to the organizers of the Hannover Messe Fair.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said, “Well, ladies and gentleman let me say that this is a truly interesting day and we have had a wonderful day with the Prime Minister of India. We have seen excellent examples of Indo-German cooperation at the Hannover Messe.”

“We have also seen potential for growth, especially for German companies already present in India who wish to expand. We have seen wonderful examples of state of the art technology,” she added.

Prime Minister Modi, currently in Germany for the second leg of his three-nation tour, on Sunday vowed to remove unnecessary regulations and procedures to simplify the process of foreign investment in India, as well as to make it easier for other countries to initiate business deals.

He also attended a round table conference with German CEOs, with Voith CEO Dr.Hubert Lienhard and Bombardier Transportation CEO Lutz Bertling among those present at the meeting.

The Prime Minister arrived in Hannover after concluding a successful visit to France. He will depart for Canada, the final leg of his three-nation, nine-day tour on April 14. His first destination is Ottawa.
