Poor rains in most of Himachal; MeT warned of heavy showers in pockets

The sky remained overcast in the state capital- Shimla, where it drizzled on Sunday evening

Rains eluded most parts of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday as the monsoon remained weak even as the local MeT office warned of heavy rains at isolated places in the mid and lower hills over the next two days.

The MeT has also predicted a wet spell in the region till July 14.

The lower hills continued to reel under sultry weather conditions while the sky remained overcast in the state capital that witnessed drizzle in the evening.

The maximum temperatures fell by one to two degrees and increased by two to three degrees.

Una recorded a high of 36.6 degrees Celsius, Kangra 33.7 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 33.6 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 33.4 degrees Celsius, Nahan 31.7 degrees Celsius, Solan 29 degrees Celsius, Kalpa 25.4 degrees Celsius and Shimla 24.5 degrees Celsius.

The minimum temperatures increased by one to two degrees and Manali was coldest at night with a low of 14 degrees Celsius.

Keylong recorded 14.6 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 16 degrees Celsius while the tourist destinations of Shimla and Dharamshala recorded 17 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
