UPSC row: Lalu's son seeks PM intervention to support aspirants

He requested the PM to stop immediately the proposed examination schedule of civil services till the issues are addressed

Lending support to the agitation against the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT), RJD President Lalu Prasad's son Tejaswi Yadav has sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi's intervention to ensure that the concerns of students with Hindi background are addressed without delay.

In a letter to the PM, Tejaswi Yadav, younger son of Lalu Prasad and leader of youth RJD, urged the PM to order review of pattern of the CSAT to give level-playing field to civil services aspirants coming from rural areas.

The letter dated July 27 was posted on the Twitter account of Lalu Prasad today.

He said lakhs of students appear in UPSC civil services examination from Bihar whose medium of education was Hindi.

"The present pattern of CSAT examination discriminates against students of languages other than English," he wrote in the letter.

He demanded that police should stop treating protesting civil services aspirants as "criminals".
