Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 97-year-old mother Hiraba standing in a queue to swap her currency notes, saying it was not "appropriate" of him to do so for "political gains".

"It wasn't appropriate on part of Modi ji to make his mother stand in a queue for political gains. If I ever have to stand in a queue will do it myself and not make my mother queue up," Kejriwal tweeted.

Accompanied by relatives, Hiraba, who was in a wheelchair, came to a branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce at Raisan village on Tuesday morning and got money worth Rs 4,500 exchanged.
