Yasin was trailed for 6 months

Yasin Bhatkal, Indian Mujahideen co-founder and one of India's most wanted terrorists, was being followed by central security agencies for the last six months before he was apprehended in Nepal.

Government sources said the security agencies had got a tip off about Yasin's movement about six months ago and since then he had been continuously trailed by them.

Yasin was apprehended along with one of his accomplices yesterday in Nepal and subsequently brought to the Indo-Nepal border before being handed over to the Bihar Police.

The IM co-founder was apprehended by security agencies with the help of local authorities in Nepal.

Sources said Yasin was planning to go to Bangladesh as part of his terror activities and to meet some contacts there.

30-year-old Yasin had been on the run since 2008. The IM leader is wanted in a string of terror attacks in Ahmedabad, Surat, Bangalore, Pune, Delhi and Hyderabad.

It is the second major breakthrough for Indian agencies after the arrest of Lashkar-e-Taiba bomb expert Abdul Karim Tunda on August 16.

Yasin, who co-founded IM in 2008 along with brother Riaz, is also wanted in the German Bakery bomb blast in Pune on February 13, 2010, that left 17 dead.
