Seeking immediate scrapping of the Posco project in view of a central committee's adverse report, the CPI today said it would intensify agitation till the government revokes all clearances accorded to the South Korean steel major.
CPI, which had been agitating against Posco's Rs 51,000 crore mega steel plant project in Orissa since signing of the MoU on June 22, 2005, stated that the Meena Gupta Committee report had fully vindicated the stand taken by the party and many others.
"People have been agitating against Posco project for more than five years," CPI general secretary A B Bardhan said in a statement.
