As part of its social obligations, CREDAI (Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Association of India) is planning to train unskilled labourers from 10 select cities with the assistance of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).
NSDC has already started training around 20,000 unskilled labourers in Pune and invested Rs 17 crore for the purpose. The cities CREDAI will take its projects in the next three years to include Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Kochi.
“The proportion of unskilled labourers is high in real estate sector and there is a wide wage gap between skilled and unskilled labourers. With an aim to train these unskilled labourers, CREDAI, in association with NSDC, is planning to take this training project in 10 cities. This will help them to increase their incomes by three-four times,” said Lalit Kumar Jain, national president, CREDAI.
