Department of Telecom Member (Services) S C Misra has been given the additional charge of BSNL Chairman and Managing Director till a full-time CMD is finalised for the state-run telecom firm.
Misra will hold the additional responsibility till the final appointment is made or any new order regarding the post is issued, according to a BSNL circular.
Misra will not been entitled to any remuneration for the additional responsibility. He took over the role from today.
Gopal Das, the acting CMD of BSNL, retired from the post on February 28, 2011.
