GESIA delegation to represent Gujarat's ICT industry in Dubai

The mission will be led by Pankaj Shah, President, GESIA and is be supported by Ministry of MSME under international cooperation scheme

In what will be the first international trade mission for Gujarat's IT sector, the Gujarat Electronics and Software Industries (GESIA) is taking a group of Gujarat Electronics and ICT business on a trade mission to visit GITEX - Dubai from October 20 to 24, 2013.

In a bid to strengthen business ties and boost Gujarat exports, a separate committee of international branding has been created to promote electronics and IT sectors in world market.

Led by Paresh Shah, Chairman, International branding, the delegation is planning to conduct many activities to boost exports from region i.e. trade delegation to participate in international exhibition, B2B meetings in overseas market, workshop and seminars on how to do export.

The mission will be led by Pankaj Shah, President, GESIA and will be supported by Ministry of MSME under the international cooperation scheme. It is the first time that GESIA is taking an official trade mission of Gujarat's IT sector to any international market wherein about 14 small and medium size companies will take part in this trade mission.

It needs to be mentioned here that India's exports of electronics goods, software and related services to Middle East totalled $3.519 billion (Dh13 billion) during 2012-13. It is estimated that electronics goods exports to Middle East Countries during 2012-13 were to the tune of $1.667 billion whereas exports of software and related services to that region were $1.852 billion.

"In Dubai delegates will network with government and business officials where they will gain useful knowledge of the market and engage with potential commercial partners. We are planning to have Business to Business meetings in the GITEX with support of organizer. We are also planning to visit Indian embassy in Dubai for networking dinner," Shah stated.
