At the Confederation of Indian industry (CII) conference on Renewable Energy, Vijay Vardhan, financial commissioner and principal secretary – renewable energy said that the Haryana Electricity Regulation Commission has fixed the renewable energy purchase obligation of 1.5 per cent of consumption of energy in the state for the year 2010-11 and 2011-12.
A six-megawatt hydro power project at Yamuna Nagar and two Mw projects at Karnal have already started operations and a 9.5 Mw biomass power plant is expected to come up soon in Bhiwani”.
Along with this, under the National Solar Mission, in the first phase, 8.8 Mw is being set up in the state, and one such power plant of one Mw has been recently commissioned in Bhiwani, he informed.
