Frustrated over the inaction of the Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) on the excess lifting of mineral ores by lessees in Orissa, the state government has decided to knock the doors of the Union mines ministry on the issue.

The state Chief Secretary B K Patnaik will write to the Union mines secretary S Vijay Kumar soon in this connection. The state government will apprise the Union secretary on the lack of transparency by IBM to share information of the amount of excess quantity lifted and also not taking any action against the errant miners.
