Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee ended a fairly successful five-day visit to China, during which the two nations moved forward in resolving the border issue and vowed to lower barriers to trade and investment.

At the customary concluding press conference, Vajpayee said there had never been such progress in talks on resolving the border issue, and added that the agreement on border trade with Sikkim was the beginning of a process through which the state
