A new web portal (www.tnvelaivaaippu.gov.in) that would eventually connect all the employment exchanges in Tamil Nadu was launched here on Wednesday by state deputy chief minister M K Stalin.
The computerisation of employment offices in Tamil Nadu began in 1988 and gradually all District Employment Offices were computerised, allowing their major activities including registration, renewal and submission being carried out through computers. This has improved service quality for both registrants and employers.
To further ease the process the state government has decided to integrate all the employment offices in the state through networking at a cost of ' 5.02 crore. The task of networking these offices has been entrusted to Electronics Corporation of Tamil Nadu (Elcot), which in turn has mandated to Emergyees Private Ltd to develop a new software for the purpose.
