Government today said the modernisation project for online settlement of provident fund claim would be implemented by the next financial year in all EPFO offices.
The project will be implemented in 27 offices of Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) by the end of this financial year and in remaining 92 offices by 2010-11 financial year, Minister of State for Labour and employment Harish Rawat said.
In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, he said the project is being implemented in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre.
The implementation of the project was approved by the Central Board of Trustees of EPFO in its 182nd meeting.
Rawat said the implementation of the project is being reviewed from time to time and the initial scope of the project has since increased due to user requirement.
As on March 31, 2009, the total deposits in the employees provident fund and inoperative account under EPF stand at Rs 1,22,629 crore and Rs 5,892 crore respectively.
