Punjab board signs MoU to impart skill training

The Directorate of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with state-based Cheema Boilers Limited (CBL) to impart skill training in fabrication (welding and fitting) sector to the students of government industrial training institutes.

Revealing the MoU details, a spokesperson of the department told under this agreement trainee students of fabrication sector would get specialised training at CBL for six months. This programme, designed to inculcate high professional skill among students, would make the trainees able to compete in the international arena.

The MoU was signed by Technical Education and Industrial Training Board Director Vivek Pratap Singh and CBL Managing Director A S Cheema in the presence of Department Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar.

The spokesperson also added that after the completion of this program the Technical Education and Industrial Training department and CBL jointly issues certificates to the students which would be counter signed by DGE & T, Government of India.

He also said that Punjab Government with the help of DGE & T, Centre government and World Bank had already established Centres of Excellence for various sectors in the 33 Government ITIs.
