Railways set to achieve revised freight loading target

Indian Railways have carried 953.05 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during April-February period this year

Indian Railways have carried 953.05 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during April-February period this year. The freight carried shows an increase of 41.63 million tonnes compared to last year. The revised loading target has been set at 1052 million tonne for the 2013-14 fiscal.

The Railways generated Rs. 84379.49 crore of revenue earnings from the freight traffic compared to Rs. 76420.59 crore during the same period last year, registering a growth of 10%.
