Skill development to be the focus, says Plan panel member

Skill development would be the focus of the 12th Five-Year Plan, according to Narendra Jadhav, member, Planning Commission. Speaking at a conference on vocational skills development, Jadhav said, “Skill development is going to be an important priority in the forthcoming Five-Year Plan. New initiatives like the Kaushal Vikas Yojana, which involves setting up 1,500 industrial training institutes and 5,000 skill development centres in the uncovered blocks of the country is going to be our focus in the upcoming Plan."
