The Samajwadi Party (SP) yesterday sought the cooperation of the Congress party to install a popular government in Uttar Pradesh.
Congress support would help SP to instal a secular government and keep the communal forces at bay, state party president Ram Saran Das told reporters here.
At this stage I can only welcome the statement made by Sharad Pawar, Congress leader in Lok Sabha, who has already echoed these views, Das said.

Meanwhile, the party has decided to complete the exercise of the organisational elections in the state by March end.
Party leader and election officer, Chandra Pal Sinoh, said the district level elections would be held in ten rounds and will be completed by March 20 and the state elections would be held by March 31.
