A high-level expert committee on small-scale industries (SSI) has recommended the creation of a Rs 2,000 crore infrastructure development fund for upgrading infrastructure in the industrial estates and modernisation of units.
The committee has also suggested the creation of a Rs 1,000 crore Incubation Infrastructure Development Fund (IIDF) with an aim to set up adequate number of centres in the Tenth Five Year Plan to help the skilled young entrepreneurs to start their own ventures.
