CII-SR is planning to start an institute to train middle-level managers in industries and academia in leadership qualities with an aim to build a highly-competitive manufacturing sector over the next two decades.
“We will be setting up the institute partnering with others for which discussions are on. To be called Visionary Leaders For Manufacturing Institute (VLFMI), it will be set up in Tamil Nadu. The aim is to strengthen and transform the manufacturing sector by developing leaders,” CII's Southern Region (CII-SR) chairman, S Gopalakrishnan told reporters on Monday.
The new institute will be the third to be promoted by CII in the south after the Bangalore-based Quality Institute and the Logistics Institute headquartered in Chennai.
