The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) today released a consultation paper seeking views on the issue of revenue sharing for services based on intelligent networks.
The regulator had earlier issued a regulation allowing the universal access of free phone services like toll-free numbers for institutions like hospitals. It noted some of the service providers could not arrive at a mutually-agreed revenue-sharing agreement.
Trai asked stakeholders to come up with comments to help the regulator come up with a framework by which inter-connecting service providers could be fairly compensated.
Verification deadline
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Wednesday extended the deadline for re-verification of subscribers by telecom operators to December 31.
