Against its oft-repeated claims of pro-Narendra Modi wave, BJP workers and senior leaders are focusing more on those seats where its candidates have won last Lok Sabha elections with a thin margin.

Sumitra Mahajan from Indore Lok Sabha seat, also known as 'Tai' (elder sister), is one of them. Although the Congress is betting on its old candidate Satya Narayan Patel who had lost the 2009 elections to Mahajan with a narrow margin of 11,480 votes, the later is confident of retaining the seat for eighth time in a row.

In an interesting way to campaign, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has come up with a new idea for her. The party has announced to celebrate a week in her nick name 'Tai'.

The week, 'The Tai Dilli Jayengi -- Week' (Tai will go to Delhi) or the 'Tai Week' will begin from April 16.

Each wing of the party has been entrusted a special task each day. The week will begin with a programme in local Krishi Upaj Mandi to highlight BJP and state chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's effort to boost agriculture sector. It would culminate with public meetings in the mandi.

The following day the party will organise a 'Muslim Mahila Sansad' to apprise women of Muslim community of party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi's view about the minority community.

On April 18 the party would take out a 'Modi Jyoti Yatra' (a rally) which will highlight the adversities of inflation led by women members of the party. Next day the party workers would appeal to vote in favour of Sumitra Mahajan and Modi by distributing pamphlets and 'yellow rice' (turmeric coloured rice). The party workers would give conclusion to 'Tai Week' by forming a human chain of 2 km long and would spread a message that the BJP and Modi work for dalit community.

"The week is aimed at touching all voters of the Indore Lok Sabha constituency, it would include all party workers who will have personal contact with all voters," said Alok Dubey, party spokesperson from Indore said telephonically.

Confident of retaining the Indore Lok Sabha seat for eighth time in a row, Mahajan claimed there is a pro-Modi wave in the country. However, the political observers say the contest is triangular as Aap (Aam Admi party) has also filed a strong candidate Anil Trivedi.

Mahajan has recently been served notices by election for not channelising her expenditure through a bank account. More interestingly she was weighed against fruits by her supporters but she did not mention the price of fruits in her election expenditure.
