"In Narendra Modi's type of stability, the country will face disaster", CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat told reporters at meet-the-Press Programme, organised by the Ernakulam Press club here.
BJP, which is claiming to be the successor of this (UPA) government and is 'waiting in the line', has not even released its manifesto, Karat said.

By fielding Modi from Varanasi, a clear signal was being sent by BJP to Uttar Pradesh and other parts of the country, he said.
"Narendra Modi is the manifesto of the BJP and he is being backed by the corporate power and Hindutva," Karat said.
On Defence Minister, A K Antony expressing confidence of a UPA III and hoping CPI(M) and left parties would support such a move to prevent BJP from coming to power, Karat said "there is no question of the left parties supporting the Congress. I am surprised that a senior leader of Antony's stature is talking like this".
"When a party is in power, and when they lose elections where is the question of forming the government?," he asked.
"It is universally understood that Congress will lose the elections. When you lose the mandate of the electorate, you don't go back to form the government," he said.
On whether CPI(M) will join a third front government, he said it all depended on the results.
