Raking up the Saradha scam and alleged irregularities in appointment of primary teachers in the state, Modi said, "On the one hand, the country has become scam India. Here the state has turned into scam Bengal. Didi must answer why it is so.
"When I talk about chit funds, those who run such companies may get upset. But I do not understand why Didi is getting upset," he said at a rally in Krishnanagar.
Modi also accused Mamata of double speak over the issue of Bangaldeshi infiltrators. "In August 2005 , she created a ruckus in Parliament raising this accusing that the Left was using Bangladeshi infiltrators as vote bank. When I say the same thing, she is getting upset with me."
Narendra Modi today also clarified his comment on Bangladeshi immigrants in the country, making a distinction between infiltrators and refugees. He said, while those who force themselves into India illegally would have to go back, people have been driven out from the neighbouring nation because of their religion would be welcomed.
"Refugees from Bangladesh are welcome. It is not that only Assam and Bengal will shelter them. The entire country will accommodate the refugees," Modi noted at an election rally in Barasat.
He also raised women's safety issue to attack Mamata. "Crimes against women are on the rise in Bengal. Didi shows so much anger against me, but she is soft on the rapists." he said.
Later in the evening, Modi addressed the day's third rally in the state in North Kolkata. He mocked Mamata saying, "Didi said, I should be arrested and sent behind bars with a rope tied around his waist. Didi, even if you try to float a tender for that rope, Saradha will get the tender. You will pay Rs 10,000 for a Rs 100 rope. Don't waste public money doing this."
Modi also reacted to Priaynka Gandhi Vadra's "neech raajneti"comment saying, "Congress shared biriyani with our neighbour, which has beheaded our soldier; Congress released Lalu ahead of election to ally with his party -- these are instances of neech rajneeti. Congress can release all criminals to take their help in election, but even then it cannot stop BJP."
