Axis Bank gets nod to raise Rs 35,000 crore

At the lender's annual general meeting on Friday, Axis Bank shareholders approved raising up to Rs 35,000 crore in the current financial year by selling bonds and non-convertible debentures. Apart from this, the borrowing limit of the bank has also been upped to Rs 1,50,000 crore.

The shareholders also approved the reappointment of Shikha Sharma as the managing director and chief executive officer of the bank. The lender also appointed S Vishvanathan as an independent director.
