State-run Central Bank of India today announced a decline in its net profit at Rs 59.32 crore for the quarter ended June 30, a 39.6 per cent decrease over the corresponding period a year ago.

The bank had a net profit of Rs 98.35 crore in Q1 of FY08, Central Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The total income rose 37.27 per cent to Rs 2,572.53 crore in the June quarter, from Rs 1,874.02 crore in the year-ago period.
