The rupee on Tuesday extended gains for a second session, rising nine paise against the dollar to 62.72, amid a good show by stocks, and on selling of dollars by banks and exporters ahead of the two-day US Federal Reserve monetary policy meet.
It moved in a range of 62.67 and 62.78, before finishing at 62.72 a dollar, showing a gain of nine paise.
