Last week, CBI’s Economic Offences Wing had registered a case against Kumarah, Acharya and Piyoosh Goyal, chairman of Worlds Window Group, in a case of alleged graft in the disbursal of a loan of Rs 400 crore. While Kumarah was arrested, CBI was probing Acharya’s case, in which he is alleged to have sought consideration for clearing loans.

To probe the charges, SBI had a formed two-member panel of Managing Directors A Krishna Kumar and Hemant Contractor.

Terming the incident unfortunate, Takru, a government representative on the board, said if anybody was guilty, the law would take its course.

According to the CBI, Goyal had allegedly applied for a corporate loan of Rs 400 crore. Kumarah, who had joined the Worlds Window Group, allegedly used his ties with Acharya to get a loan of Rs 75 crore cleared.
