As per rabi crops sowing data released by Directorate of Economics and Statistics area coverage under rabi crops has gone up to 184.30 lakh hectare whereas last week it was at 80.13 lakh hectare. While area under Wheat has been shown as 42.88 lakh hectare as against 52.50 lakh hectare last year, area under Rapeseed & Mustard has recorded an increase which is 48.87 lakh hectare as compared to 47.01 lakh hectare last year. Area coverage of Gram is 40.99 lakh hectare as against 53.05 lakh last year. Area coverage of total pulses is 58.77 lakh hectare as against 70.85 lakh hectare last year.
